Volunteer Opportunity

CAPITAL FUND APPLICANT GUIDES NEEDED!!

United Way and Thrive in 5 are administering the Capital Resources for Early Educators Fund for the City of Boston. This Fund will enable early education providers (centers and home daycares) with funding to purchase enhancements to the environment in which they care for the children in their program. The Capital Fund will also connect fund recipients to resources available to them through the City of Boston, including Thrive in 5, the Boston Public Health Commission and ReadBoston.

Instead of just issuing an RFP and waiting for applications to come in, UW and Ti5 want to set up providers for success and we need volunteer help to make this happen!

Early Education providers will be invited to attend training and technical assistance sessions where volunteers will provide one-on-one guidance to make sure that applicants start the forms correctly and apply for appropriate expenditures. This is especially valuable for providers that do not have access to computers, for which English is not their first language, and those who have never applied for a grant before.

Come as a group or as an individual volunteer for one of the following sessions. Training will be provided via a brief webinar - watch it live or recorded. We need 5-15 volunteers per session. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed, but not required. If volunteers have access to a laptop, it would be great if they could bring it with them. This will allow us to augment any computers available at the sites.

Ready to sign up? Please check the session below that you would like to attend, and complete the Volunteer Information at the bottom of the email. For more information go to http://www.cybergrants.com/bostonearlyed or call 617-624-8203.
