We here at Berklee City Music are looking for young professionals to become volunteer mentors who can provide academic and social assistance to students participating in our after-school programs.
As part of Berklee College of Music, Berklee City Music is a nonprofit education program that harnesses the energy of contemporary music to reach underserved 4th-12th graders in the Boston area. Studying with Berklee students, faculty, and alumni, our students dedicate themselves to building their musical talent and self-confidence.
In order to create a holistic experience for our students, we are establishing a network of academic mentors who can offer academic assistance. Beginning in September of 2014, Berklee City Music is looking to recruit mentors in the following areas:
Math/Science, English/Social Studies, Legal/Substance Abuse Guidance, College Prep, Counseling
2. Time commitments vary per week depending on mentor availability, but all mentoring will take place between 4pm-6pm Monday-Friday. If you are interested in learning about volunteering your time, please contact Jordan Summers atjsummers1@berklee.edu or 617-747-6058.
