The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Organization for Women (Mass. NOW)
is excited to announce our 2013 Feminism in Action Contest. It’s an
opportunity for a young person you know to put their ideas into action
in a big way—a unique chance to really make a difference in an area that
needs them!!
The Feminism in Action Contest invites young
feminists, from 18-26 years old, to submit a proposal for an
education-based project. The project must aim to improve the lives of
women and/or girls and must fall within one or more of Mass. NOW’s
six priority issue areas: constitutional and civil rights; reproductive
rights; racial justice, LGBTQ rights; violence against women; and
economic equality.
The winner will receive Mass. NOW’s support to implement the project, including a budget of $3,000 as well as Mass. NOW
mentors. She or he will also be presented with an award at our annual
fundraiser, the Feminist Affair. A panel of judges will choose the
winning recipient.
Please share this information with the young
individuals in your life—students, family members, friends, and
neighbors. Further details regarding the contest criteria are included
in the attached document. If you have any questions, please email feminisminaction@massnow.org.
