Social Studies is back and ready for a 2013 full of new guests!
It's been long overdue for us to have local legend KON at Social Studies. Last time we tried, he was about to leave for France. Often busy on the weekends, it's great to be able to have him join us for the first Social Studies of 2013. 2012 was a pretty busy year for KON. His interpretations of Sylvester's "You Make me Feel" and Cerrone's "Hooked On You" circulated the Edits circuit as Vinyl-Only exclusives via Basic Fingers with great recep...tion from other Deejays. This year he was named the "re-edit/rework king of 2012″ by Gilles Peterson. Not a bad thing coming from the legendary UK DJ & Digger. On the home front, his project Nitetime with Ben from Whisley Barons also saw some Press for their "Jive Talk EP" as well as a Remix for Soulclap. There's apparently a lot more to come in 2013 from KON but in the mean time, join us on the Dancefloor as It will for sure be something a little from the ordinary. Residents Brenden Wesley & Alfredo are notorious for setting the tone of the night so expect anything from Disco to House, and why not...maybe even a little Detroit Techno! https://soundcloud.com/kon http://www.facebook.com/ |
