Overview: The Friends of Fort Point Channel is a non-profit organization committed to making the Fort Point Channel an exciting and welcoming destination for all of Boston’s residents, workforce and visitors. In the effort to make Fort Point a great place to live, work and play, the Friends of Fort Point is hosting the 10th annual Taste of the Fort Point Channel to promote area restaurants and attract new visitors and thank loyal ones. The event is free to the public. Guests will be able to relax on benches while they sample the menus of over a dozen local restaurants and cafés.
Volunteer Information: Volunteers of the Taste of Fort Point will greet attendees while tasting some the area’s best cuisine. All volunteers will receive a Friends of Fort Point Channel t-shirt to be worn on the day of the event.
Volunteer Shifts: Below are two volunteer shifts:
10:30am-12:30pm Set-Up Shift
- Set-up tables for participating vendors
- Clip linens to tables
- Set-up signs for each vendor
- Delivered assigned cutlery to vendor tables
- Put up balloons in event area
- Help vendors to their assigned tables
- Welcome guests as they arrive
- Pick up any miscellaneous trash
12:00pm-2:00pm Break-Down Shift
- Welcome guests as they arrive
- Pick up any miscellaneous trash
- Remove linens from the tables
- Break-down tables
- Collect remaining cutlery
- Remove balloons
- Collect vendor signs
