The Greek Independence Day Parade will take place on April 7 at
1:00pm. It will run along Boylston Street, downtown Boston, where many
groups in traditional Greek attire, philharmonic bands and many
participating societies will parade, proudly waiving the Greek and
American flags.
The Greek War of Independence was a successful war of independence
waged by the Greek revolutionaries between 1821 and 1832, with later
assistance from Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and several other
European powers against the Ottoman Empire, who were assisted by their
vassals, the Eyalet of Egypt, and partly by the Vilayet of Tunisia. Come
celebrate freedom with us on April 7. Join us in the celebration of
Greek Heritage & Culture at ''Expo on the Park'', following the
Parade on the Boston Common.
Our leader and organizer for the event is Niko! You can email him with any questions at carecopoulos@gmail.com
Our members will meet in front of the Lenox Hotel (address below) to
watch the parade go by. Look for Niko with his EU and Greek flags &
our cool characters of the group:)
Traditional Folk Dance performance; Greek food & Greek activities guaranteed:)
Boston: brought to you through a young, cultural, musical, artistic, political, diverse typa lense.
