The psoas is the muscle in the body that
is
responsible for allowing us to run and walk. When we perceive a threat
our fight or flight response is activated, engaging the psoas muscle.
After the threat has past, the psoas may not have been able to
completely release, holding us in a pattern of readiness to flight or
flee. In our society, we may experience this cycle when stressed,
anxious or overwhelmed.
