Art on the Marquee March14

For the fifth round of ''Art on the Marquee,'' Boston Cyberarts and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) will be presenting six new works created by members of the Massachusetts video game industry on the 80-foot-tall multi-screen LED marquee outside the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in South Boston. The artwork is reflective of gaming culture and will be played in conjunction with the return of the PAX East gaming convention. PAX East (March 22-24) is the East Coast's largest video gaming event. At the BCEC, 415 Summer St. Boston, MA. An opening will be held on March 14 from 6pm to 8pm.
The works are ''LARP'' by Chris Florio, ''Space Plants'' by Fish McGill, ''Tiger Training'' by William Russell Pensyl, ''Growing Phones'' by Joshua Pablo Rosenstock, ''1UP'' by Jeffu Warmouth, and ''Mists of Mortal Legends'' by a group of eight game designers from Turbine, Inc. Complementing the ''Art the Marquee'' exhibition, The Boston Cyberarts Gallery in Jamaica Plain is presenting The Game's Afoot: Video Game Art, on view through Sunday, April 14. Three artists - Rob Gonsalves, Victor Liu & Anthony Montuori - who make video games that investigate the nature of art as well as the nature of video games themselves will be on view (and available to play). At the Boston Cyberarts Gallery, Green Street T station on the Orange Line. For more information about the exhibition, please visit www.bostoncyberarts.org/gallerypage.
