have you missed us? we've certainly missed you!
this month's Mic is going to be all types of AWESOME!!
first and foremost, our Feature for the month is JR Mahung! and we are so so excited to have him bless the Mic as a feature!
quick bio about your Feature;
JR is more awkward than your awkward friend. He is a proud Belizean and Garinagu. He likes sweaters, Chicago, and telling people that they’re not from Chicago. JR writes poems sometimes, reads them for people less frequently. (most) Hugs stress him out. High fives make him happy. His favorite things are eating rice and beans, listening to hip-hop, and hanging out with his grandmother. His favoritest thing is doing all three at once.
secondly, WE ARE HAVING OUR FIRST SLAM IN THE HISTORY OF OUR 6 YEAR EXISTENCE!! yes, you read that correctly! Janae Johnsonand Porsha Rashidaat J. Olayiwola will be in the building to make that all possible and to continue our partnership with the House Slam family! (if you can Feel it, you can House Slam!)
thirdly, we will be celebrating Jha D Williams' 30th BIRTHDAY!! (and yes, she is graciously accepting gifts...lol. hugs, poems, cards with money in them, chocolate, unicorns, penguins, etc)
