I will also be giving a short presentation about the innovative research being done at Boston Children's Hospital through the caring and intensive support from the Progeria Research Foundation.
This film is based on the life of Sam Berns, a Foxboro native who became nationally known for his fight against progeria, a disease that accelerates aging. His story is beautifully told in this documentary, revealing a funny, sober boy who dreamed of playing with his high school marching band.
The event is part of City Awake Boston, which is a 10-day festival highlighting social impact in Boston.
The event is FREE, but you are more than welcome to make a donation either online or at the door. I will be speakin in honor of my friend Zach Pickard, who is 7 years old and lives with progeria (pictured below).
The event will be held at Impact Hub Boston (big thanks guys!) and snacks will be provided.
When: Friday, December 12, 6 - 8:30 pm
Where: Impact Hub Boston, 50 Milk Street, 17th Floor
Cameron, Zach, and Miles are all smiles as they complete a round of clinical trials at Boston Children's Hospital
