The Harvard Square Business Association and Sandrine’s Bristo are
pleased to announce that our annual Bastille Day event will be held on
Sunday, July 13th, 2014 on Holyoke Street from 5pm – 10pm. Come
celebrate with us in Grand French Style! Beginning at 3pm to watch the
final game of the World Cup in its entirety on our big screen!
Sandrine’s Bistro is once again our culinary and cultural co-host for this celebration of all things French! Joining Sandrines is an array of some of the most renowned French and ethnic restaurants in greater Boston, including: Beat Hotel, The Sinclair, The Elephant Walk, La Voile, O Sushi Cambridge, and Paris Creperie. For those of you with a sweet tooth, make sure to visit Zinnekens and Yogurtland who will also be onsite. Park Restaurant & Bar will be hosting a beer garden.
The festivities begin after the final game of the World Cup with a performance by Harvard Square favorites, Billy Wine, fresh off their high energy set at this year’s Make Music Harvard Square / Fete de la Musique. “Funk, swagger masters" Billy Wine have brought their brand of rhythm n' groove to venues throughout Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston. Whether it's firing up the crowd at the Middle East's Funk Friday, turning rock concerts into dance parties or just laying it down on the street for the heck of it, Billy Wine brings the music that makes people move.
After Billy Wine, The Dan Searl Band takes the stage. Forged in the spring of this year, the group has set a new standard for progressive music. A product of Berklee College of Music, The Dan Searl Group specializes in producing innovative original music that is improvisational and groove-oriented. Their strong roots in Jazz and knack for strong rhythm and melody produce a sound that truly sets them apart from the crowd. This Modern Jazz four piece band has performed at countless renowned venues including the Berklee Performance Center, The Stone Church, and The Red Room.
Immediately following the Dan Searl Band, the party explodes with French techno- music courtesy of DJ Kamal from the Boston French Party. Dance under the twinkling lights to the hottest beats currently playing in Paris night clubs.
Indulge on French delicacies, groove to the hippest music, relax with a cold beer and celebrate France in Harvard Square. C'est Magnifique!
Bastille Day in Harvard Square is sponsored by the Harvard Square Business Association, Sandrine’s Bistro, The Boston Globe, and Leaf Filter.
