Amenities & Programming
The design of Norman B. Leventhal Park accommodates passive individual activities such as eating, reading, conversations and people watching.
Park Photography
Candid photography is permitted within the Park. Any group photography, or filming of a commercial nature, requires a photography release. Download a photography release form (PDF).
Park Events
The Park was carefully designed to be a place of enjoyment for passive activities among its visitors. The landscaping and many of the art and structural elements in the Park were not designed for frequent organized events. Please contact us with specific inquiries.
Free WiFi
Free high-speed Internet access is available to visitors of the Park. The Park’s primary access point for WiFi serves the entire park, including the café. The SSID for our unsecured wireless network is Norman B Leventhal Park.
Four-Season Café
Sip is an owner-operated cafe serving great coffee and a menu of soup, salads and sandwiches on artisan breads featuring locally grown produce. Enjoy the outdoor seating. Summer brings Sip's hot dog cart and ice cream to the Park. Sip Cafe is open weekdays from 6:30 am to 6 pm in the summer and to 5:30 pm in the winter.
Seat Cushions
To encourage park visitors to lounge on The Norman B. Leventhal Park’s Great Lawn, our green seat cushions may be borrowed midday, Monday through Friday during the summer, from a cart located at the south end of the lawn.
Library On The Lawn
Something to read is the perfect complement to our famous seat cushions. We welcome our book cart to the Park midday, Monday through Friday during the summer. Borrow a book for an hour or a week, all on the honor-system. Donated reading materials may be left on the cart.
Summer Midday Music
Enjoy the sounds of local musicians who regularly play with such venerable ensembles as the Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Handel & Haydn Society, and Boston Lyric Opera, as well as jazz musicians and vocalists, with styles ranging from Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven to Broadway, Dixieland, and Jazz.
We are working on our 2013 Midday Music schedule, which will be posted on our Park Calendar.
Free Summer Fitness Programs
We successfully debuted free yoga classes in 2012, and are planning an expanded program, called PO Fitness, for summer 2013. Watch for details on our updated Park Calendar in the spring.
