International Women's Day Oxfam Banquet March 8

Join us at 4:30 pm on Saturday March 8, International Women's Day for an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet. See hunger in a whole new way. The place where you sit, and the meal that you eat, will be determined by the luck of the draw--just as in real life--some of us are born into relative prosperity and others into poverty.

Worldwide, millions of women engage in small scale farming and are leaders in the fight against hunger, yet they face discrimination in access to resources like land and credit. Here in Boston, women are innovators in building a better food system that provides healthy and sustainable choices. Come together with Simmons College, Oxfam America and the Boston Oxfam Action Corps to celebrate women's achievements here and worldwide in changing the way we grow, eat, and share food so that everyone has enough to eat, always.

We will honor two outstanding women who are making a difference in the food system locally and globally: Cassandria Campbell, a co-founder of Fresh Food Generation here in Boston, and farmer and "Female Food Hero" Birtikuan Dagnachew of Ethiopia.   For more details click here: http://oxfamhungerbanquetinternationalwomensday.eventbrite.com
