Travel and Taste April4

Travel and Taste: India, Tigers, the Taj, and Birds:

This is our sixth Travel and Taste, and we are excited to be featuring the natural history of India along with the culinary highlights of this Asian region.
India offers some of the most spectacular bird and wildlife safaris imaginable, along with the beauty of its many cultural attractions. Tonight's presentation will be a travelogue through south, central, and northern India, with a focus on how wildlife and art have been intricately woven together throughout India's more than 5,000 years of civilization. We'll go on safaris on tiger reserves, see myriad wading birds in one of India's premier bird sanctuaries, experience the dramatic scenery of the foothills of the Himalayas, visit exotic temples that depict the importance of animals and birds to Indian culture, and, of course, see the Taj Mahal.
We are delighted that Christopher DeStefano of Christopher's Table in Ipswich will be cooking up a culinary dinner for us again this year, highlighting dishes from this region from hors d'oeuvres to dessert.
Dinner will be followed by a PowerPoint presentation given by Robert Buchsbaum, Mass Audubon's Regional Scientist, who has led Mass Audubon natural history tours to this region. Sit back and enjoy the birds, animals, and plants of this beautiful area. Sign up for the dinner and the presentation or just the presentation (though you'd be missing an amazing meal!)
Dinner & Presentation: $30 member, $33 nonmember
Presentation only: $8 member, $10 nonmember
Instructions and Directions: Meets in the Barn. Dinner will be served beginning at 6:15 pm, followed by the presentation at 7:30 pm.
