WB2030 Network for Young Professionals (and Students): "Citizen Diplomacy: How Can YOU Shape America's Foreign Affairs and the Future of Our World?". Our organization, WorldBoston, is very unique in Boston in that we partner with the U.S. Department of State to host over 500 emerging leaders from around the globe each year through our local coordination of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). We want to teach you about how we administer the State Dept's premier professional exchange program and empower you to get involved as a citizen diplomat here in the Boston area. Check out this short video about Citizen Diplomacy featuring 5-time World Champion and State Dept. Adviser (Fletcher School Alum), Michelle Kwan.
This Thursday, March 14 we're excited to be partnering with Hostelling International-Boston--another great place for cultural exchange--to host an interactive presentation. There will be networking, free food/beer/wine, and remarks from our national president, Mrs. Jennifer Clinton, Ph.D of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV), along with a chance to meet some of these outstanding visitors currently in Boston and a fun activity to help demonstrate how we create these short-term professional programs and how you can get involved!
Full event information is pasted below my email signature, attached in a flier below, and on facebook here. The WB2030 Network has been up and running since Sept. 2012 and we've been building some great momentum after our International Trivia Night back in January and our most recent February panel discussion, American Competitiveness and National Security. Thursday evening promises to be a fun night of networking and learning how some of our most effective diplomatic contributions come from 'average' Americans in cities all around the U.S..
