To celebrate the 100th birthday of Rosa Parks, Community Labor
United's Public Transit-Public Good campaign will honor Black women
across our Commonwealth who exemplify the courage and community spirit
of Rosa Parks.
Rosa Parks said "I would like to be known as a person who is
concerned about freedom and equality and justice and prosperity for all
people." By refusing to give up her seat on a bus she was part of one of
the most historic equal rights campaign in U.S. history, the Montgomery
bus boycott. She understood fighting for transit justice is fighting
for social justice
