Boston Local Food Festival Oct7

"Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts presents the 3rd Annual Boston Local Food Festival presented by Teddie Peanut Butter. The festival is Boston's premier food festival promoting the joys of eating local food and includes local farmers, some of the best restaurants in New England, specialty foods,  Fishstock and a Seafood Throwdown, Meat Cutting Demos and Chef Demos. The Do-It-Yourself” (DIY) educational component allows amateur and professionals the opportunity to showcase their skills with festival-goers.  This year's festival will take place in a new location, The Rose Kennedy Greenway on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 11am - 5pm. This new expanded location will accommodate the growing event."

Festivities:

Explore the Booths filled with Local Food - Enjoy the treasure hunt of finding and buying from our vendors: fresh produce from farmers ready to eat dishes from talented chefs, all including locally sourced ingredients and priced at $5 or less specialty foods, many featuring locally sourced ingredients and created by local independent food businesses.
Gather for the Inspiring Demos - Join chefs and other local food experts as they demonstrate their skills with two chef
demonstration stages, a meat cutting stage, two DIY Demo booths and a Seafood Throwdown sponsored by Northwest Marine Atlantic Alliance.
Donate your Crop – Participate in the Crop Share by donating produce from your garden. These fresh, healthy, generously donated foods will be collected through South Boston Grows and The Food Project and distributed to families who will benefit from
them.
Explore the Family Fun Zone - Engage with organizations offering interactive exhibits that demonstrate the benefits of growing and eating fresh local foods from land and sea.
Taste Local Beer, Mead, Cider and Wine - Sample local beer, mead, and wine at the Local Craft Brew Tasting event.
Jam with the Music - Get into the rhythm of the season with local musicians.
