Bubby's Memoir.

I wanted to share an excerpt from My great grandmothers memoir that I'm reading right now: "I was glad to be in America:no More progroms, no more hiding. My brother joe was good to me, but so Something was missing. As I said from the beginning, my generation was lost. At that time it was in style to be free; no holidays, free from religion, free from god. It is true that I was dissapoibted in god many times, but this kind of life did not make me happy. I missed the atmosphere that I knew in aunt libby's house, the things she used to tell us. She had a good story how a poor child has More pleasure in life than a rich child. Because before a poor child gets a new dress or shoes, she hopes that she will get it. She uses her imagination, she dreams about it, and when she finally gets it she is the happiest girl in the world. What pleasure does a rich girl have? Whatever she wants se gets, and she has nothing to look forward to."

This is a photograph of her grand-daughter- my mama :)

  1. I Love this! And it is all very true. Many things in life gain more appreciation depending on how hard you have to work for it.
